Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that 64 percent of the land reclamation work at Rasmale’ Site A has been completed.
According to MACL, 64 hectares of land have been reclaimed out of the total 138 hectares planned for Site A. Reclamation work at the site began on December 1, 2025.
MACL said the project is currently being carried out using Cristóbal Cologne, one of the two largest dredgers in the world, which has a dredging capacity of 46,000 cubic meters.
The Rasmale’ reclamation project aims to reclaim a total of 1,009 hectares of land and is being implemented by three companies. Overall reclamation work in Rasmale’ began on December 18, 2024.
