Three people have been arrested in a drug operation carried out in Dhuvaafaru, R. Atoll.

The operation was conducted jointly by Dhuvaafaru Police and Counter Narcotics Intelligence following a tip-off received by the authorities.

The suspects have been identified as Mohamed Ali, 39; Ismail Shaufan Ali, 28; and Nazeeh Hilmy, 32. All three were arrested on suspicion of smuggling and possession of narcotics.

The Criminal Court has remanded Ismail Shaufan Ali in custody for five days, while the remaining two suspects have been remanded in custody for 30 days.

Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
