A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening and grabbing a police officer while they were carrying out their duties.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Ali Shaheem was taken into custody in connection with the case. Police said he was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police duty.

According to the detention warrant, Ali Shaheem confronted police officers who had arrived at the scene, threatened them, and allegedly grabbed one of the officers by the neck. However, he denied the allegations when the case was presented in court.

The Criminal Court on Monday ordered that he be remanded in custody for 15 days as the investigation continues. The detention order also noted that the suspect has a criminal record.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
