Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdullah Muththalib has announced that efforts are underway to relocate 1,114 land plots from Giravaru Falhu to Gulhifalhu, reaffirming the government’s commitment to public welfare.

Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office, the Minister said the previous administration had planned to relocate a total of 5,186 land plots from Giravaru Falhu to Gulhifalhu due to the lack of a suitable living environment in the area. He explained that while 1,114 plots have been relocated to Gulhifalhu, the remaining 4,072 plots have been removed from the land allocation plan.

The Minister said land reclamation work at the Giravaru Falhu is expected to begin before the end of next month. A draw among eligible land recipients will also be held next month, and land registration will be completed once reclamation work is finished.

He added that land plots leased from Giravaru Falhu are expected to be handed over within the next six months.
