A fire has broken out on a safari vessel named Yasawa Princess near Kuda Anbara in Vaafu Atoll, according to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

The MNDF said efforts are currently underway to extinguish the fire and bring the situation under control.

It remains unclear whether any tourists were on board at the time of the incident, and the number of people present has not yet been confirmed.
