Mohamed Nasheed, the former President of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and former Speaker of the People's Majlis, has held a meeting with Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who serves as the MDP Advisor and former President of the Maldives.

This meeting between the two prominent figures took place this morning at the MDP headquarters. Their discussions occur amidst growing internal competition within the MDP, coinciding with the party's upcoming Local Council Primary elections.

Significant political disagreements had emerged between Nasheed and Ibu during the MDP Presidential Primary when they competed against each other. Following these political differences, Nasheed had initially left the MDP but later rejoined the party.

Today's meeting marks the first encounter between the two leaders since those significant political divergences.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Nasheed has also recently met and held discussions with the current MDP President, Abdulla Shahid.
