80% completion has been achieved on the land reclamation and coastal protection project for the N. Velidhoo Industrial Zone.

MTCC, the project contractor, announced today that the ongoing work for this project involves the construction of geo-bag revetment.

The physical works for Velidhoo land reclamation commenced on July 23rd of this year.

The land reclamation project for the Velidhoo Industrial Zone is being executed by MTCC, under the oversight of the Ministry of Construction, and is funded by the state budget.

Under this project, land will be reclaimed from the southwestern side of the island to facilitate boat docking and fiber-related works, followed by coastal protection measures for the area.
