Under the project to expand Maldivian passport services to various parts of the country, passport services have now commenced in Kelaa, Haa Alifu Atoll.
Passport services have already been launched in Ihavandhoo, and are also available in Dhidhdhoo, within Haa Alifu Atoll. The services for printing and issuing ID cards and passports in Dhidhdhoo began on January 28th of this year.
Expanding ID card and passport services nationwide to all atolls of the Maldives is a pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The work to extend these services across the country under this pledge began on November 16th of last year.
The fulfillment of this presidential pledge and the completion of the establishment of these services were commemorated during a ceremony held in Mahibadhoo, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, on the night of October 7th this year, amidst President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to the islands of ADh. Atoll.
Consequently, passport services are now being provided in at least one island in every atoll.
