Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has been entrusted with the development of a sports complex in R. Dhuvaafaru.

The agreement to assign the project to MACL was signed during a special ceremony held on the island, coinciding with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's official visit to Dhuvaafaru.

During the ceremony, the agreement for the establishment of the Dhuvaafaru Sports Complex was signed by Minister of Sports, Abdulla Rafiu, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports, and by Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Managing Director of MACL, representing the company.

This sports complex is being developed to accommodate various sports, including handball, netball, and volleyball, with the aim of achieving the objectives outlined in the long-term sports plan and fostering the development of high-caliber athletes.
