Helicopter services in the Maldives have been renewed, with the Transport Ministry announcing a call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) through the Government Gazette. The service, first launched on August 5, 2019, is being reopened to enhance national capabilities.
According to the ministry, the renewed initiative aims to provide helicopter-based air ambulance services and search and rescue operations, strengthening both public safety and tourism. An exclusive 10-year contract will be awarded to a selected helicopter service provider.
Interested companies may submit their EoIs via email or in person at the Umar Zahir office building’s third floor. Submissions are open until the close of official hours on January 25.
