A man has been arrested for theft from a nursing station at IGMH (Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital).

A detention order from the Criminal Court stated that a 37-year-old Maldivian man was arrested on suspicion of entering a hospital nursing station and committing theft. He has a long record of criminal offenses.

The court yesterday ordered a five-day detention period for the man arrested on suspicion of theft.

The Criminal Court ordered his detention in a custodial jail because he was deemed a potential threat to public safety.
