The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has appointed Ibrahim Haleem, CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals, as Chairperson of the State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Corporation Limited.

The announcement was made today.

The corporation was established on September 9, 2025, under authority granted to the President by Article 15 of the Companies Act. Founded by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the corporation is tasked with importing and supplying medicines, medical consumables and medical equipment to the Maldives.

The appointment comes as access to essential medicines, particularly for people with special needs, remains a persistent concern.
