The Prosecutor General (PG) has decided not to press charges against Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, the former Managing Director of HDC, and Abdullah Shuhood, the company's IT Head. This decision comes after the Prosecutor General's Office determined that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate allegations that they had irrecoverably deleted documents from the company's server.
The specific accusation against Fazul Rasheed and Abdullah Shuhood in this matter was that they had obstructed justice by deleting documents from HDC's server that could have served as evidence in a criminal investigation.
The PG Office stated that a report prepared by HDC's IT department explicitly indicated that no documents or data had been deleted or lost from HDC's server.
Furthermore, the police report on the matter also stated that the investigation found no evidence that Fazul and Abdullah Shuhood had deleted any documents from the HDC server.
Consequently, the PG Office confirmed that no evidence was found to support the allegations made against Ibrahim Fazul and Shuhood.
