A new world record for diving has been established at "Siyam World," a tourist resort in the Maldives.
This record, set yesterday in collaboration with Siyam World and Freedive Maldives, marks the most participants simultaneously diving in a single location. It is a newly established world record.
The record was achieved with 307 participants. Many individuals from islands in the northern Maldives and atolls close to Siyam World Resort participated in the event, dubbed "Snorkel World 300."
Following the establishment of the record, Guinness World Records presented a certificate to Siyam World and awarded a gold medal to each participant. This marks the first occasion that medals have been presented for a world record achieved in the Maldives.
Fahud Faaiz, a leading figure at Freedive Maldives, stated that this achievement is more than just a record; it is intrinsically linked to everyone who contributed to making it a reality. Fahud added that the collective gathering to set the record was driven by courage, sacrifice, and passion.
"This was a coming together of an entire community, united and wholeheartedly, at a single call. Although the days were long and the challenges significant, every message and every word of encouragement empowered us to move forward. This is the strength born from solidarity. We are filled with immense joy," he remarked.
Fahud explained that despite the participants being strangers, they came together as one team, forming a single family, and their collective effort transformed a dream into reality. He further added that while a record might eventually be surpassed, the connections, memories, and sense of teamwork forged during the event are enduring and will never fade.
Fahud extended his special gratitude to all parties who provided assistance in various ways to make the event a resounding success.
