The Maldives has secured the award for the 'World's Leading Destination' in tourism for the sixth consecutive year.

The nation successfully defended its award at the 32nd World Travel Awards ceremony held yesterday in Bahrain.

Furthermore, at this year's awards, the Maldives also received the "World's Leading Green Destination" award.

In addition, Hulhulé Island Hotel won the "World's Leading Airport Resort" award. The "World's Leading Luxury Private Island Resort" award was bestowed upon Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi Resort, a high-end resort located in Malé Atoll.

Other Awards Received by the Maldives:

  • "World's Leading Private Island Resort" award: Vakkaru Maldives
  • "World's Leading Seaplane Operator" award: Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA)

The World Travel Awards is recognized as the most prestigious accolade in the global tourism industry.
