The Elections Commission (EC) has announced that the local council and women’s development committee elections will be held on 4 April, having been rescheduled from the original date of 28 March. Applications for candidates will open on 17 January, with those contesting local council seats required to submit their nominations online through the EC portal.
A total of 226 constituencies will elect members to local councils and women’s development committees. Over 7,000 officials will be recruited to work at polling stations, with applications open via the e-pass portal (my.elections.gov) until 15:00 on Sunday, 21 May.
The commission has also announced recruitment for two additional posts, with applications and supporting documents to be submitted via email to [email protected].
