President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that households will receive a case of canned fish as a Ramadan gift and domestic electricity bills will be capped at MVR 400 during the upcoming Ramadan.

Speaking at an event held by the PNC at Artificial Beach tonight, the President stated that the government has decided to provide gifts to citizens during the upcoming Ramadan month, similar to last year's initiative.

"Just like last year, households will receive a case of canned fish. For every household billed at the domestic rate, electricity bills for the upcoming Ramadan month will be capped at a maximum of MVR 400, with the remainder being discounted," the President said.

During last year's Ramadan, the government distributed 111,231 cases of canned fish. This included 50,519 cases to households in Male' and 60,712 cases to households in the atolls.

The government also provided electricity bill discounts during last year's Ramadan.
