Minister of Finance Moosa Zameer has announced that customs employees will be included in the government’s salary revision planned for next year.
Speaking at a meeting of the Parliament’s Budget Committee, the minister addressed concerns raised by Hanimaadhoo MP Abdul Gafoor Moosa regarding the absence of a salary increase for employees of the Customs Institute.
The minister explained that the government is working with the President’s Office and the Pay Commission to harmonise salaries across state institutions, with the aim of achieving specific targets within a set timeframe. He noted that salary increases have already been implemented this year for employees in the Judiciary, several ministries, and the civil service.
He further confirmed that similar adjustments are planned for next year, which will include employees of the Customs Institute.
