President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sent the nomination of Shiruzimath Sameer of M. Zeena as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Antigua and Barbuda to the People's Majlis for approval.

When the President's letter seeking the Majlis's approval for Shiruzimath's appointment was read at today's session, the matter was forwarded to the Foreign Relations Committee of the Majlis for review.

Shiruzimath Sameer has extensive experience in the foreign affairs sector.

She has previously served as the Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Deputy Head of Mission in Germany, and as the Maldivian Ambassador to Bangladesh.

Shiruzimath currently serves as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations.
