President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed attended the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) military display held at Republic Square to commemorate Maldives Victory Day.

Upon their arrival, the President and First Lady were welcomed by Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon and Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy. The event began with a military salute presented to the President, followed by an address from the Chief of Defence Force.

The military display featured a series of demonstrations showcasing the MNDF’s preparedness and operational strength. These included a simulated joint response to a terror attack, Special Boat Squadron operations, Special Forces activities, rappelling exercises, and field counter-attack manoeuvres. The display also included a video presentation highlighting the MNDF’s capabilities and ongoing efforts to enhance national security.

The event concluded with a group photograph featuring President Dr Muizzu, the Defence Minister, and senior MNDF officers. The display served as a reminder of the courage and dedication of the nation’s armed forces in safeguarding the sovereignty and independence of the Maldives.
