US-Bangla Airlines have begun providing their services from the new terminal iof Velana International Airport (VIA).

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which operates VIA, said today that a special ceremony was held at the new terminal to mark the commencement of services to US-Bangla Airlines. The ceremony was honored by Munaz Ali, Chairman of the Airlines Operators Committee of the Maldives.

US-Bangla Airlines Station Manager Zahidul Islam and senior officials and representatives from MACL participated in the ceremony.

At today's ceremony, US-Bangla Airlines' check-in counters were officially opened, and gifts were presented to the 108 passengers traveling on that flight. The 176 passengers who arrived in the Maldives on the airline's first flight to dock at the new terminal, BS337, were given a warm welcome with cultural activities.

US-Bangla Airlines is the largest private airline in Bangladesh and also the largest in terms of fleet size. US-Bangla began flights to the Maldives on November 19, 2021.

With US-Bangla, the number of airlines now being served at the new terminal has increased to 20. MACL's goal is to provide the most comprehensive and highest quality service to all airlines traveling to the Maldives.
