It has been decided to hold a photo exhibition in Thinadhoo City in memory of Shaheed Corporal Abdullah Zuhair in connection with Victory Day.
Every year, the third day of November (Victory Day) is commemorated in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this nation. This day is significant for the victory achieved during the terrorist attack on the Maldives on November 3, 1988.
Sharing information about today's activities at the Republic Square in connection with this day on TVM's "Heyyanbo" program, MNDF Adjutant General Colonel Hussein Ali said that this year's Victory Day photo exhibition will be held in Thinadhoo City.
This is the first time the Victory Day photo exhibition is being held in Thinadhoo City.
MNDF Adjutant General Colonel Hussein said the exhibition is being held in that city because Thinadhoo is the hometown of Shaheed Corporal Abdullah Zuhair, the first person to be martyred during the November 3 attack.
"So this time it's being held specifically for this purpose. The exhibition is scheduled to open on the evening of Friday, the seventh of this month. It will be open that night and during the morning and afternoon of the eighth. This exhibition will provide very detailed information about November 3 through photos, videos, and audio," he said.
Additionally, Hussein said it is MNDF's sincere wish that all residents of Thinadhoo City, as many people as possible from the atolls, and school children visit the exhibition and gather the information available there.
He also said that MNDF has decided to conduct military presentations in Thinadhoo City next Saturday in conjunction with the exhibition.
"This presentation will be a very comprehensive military display. The display will feature various types of explosives and military tactics. This will also be a very comprehensive presentation. We hope that people will also attend this activity," said MNDF Adjutant General Colonel Hussein.
MNDF has also decided to conduct many activities in Malé in connection with Victory Day. Notable among these is the military activity being held at Republic Square today at 4:15 PM.
