President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government will pay all due amounts to private companies from state companies, and this will be done without printing money.

During a meeting with residents of L. Fonadhoo yesterday, as part of his ongoing tour of L. Atoll, the President said that as he recently announced, all bills of private companies that are due to be paid according to laws and regulations will be settled within five weeks.

He stated that except for bills incurred in the past 30 days, all other outstanding bills will be paid within five weeks.

"When the government changed, there were billions of rufiyaa in unpaid bills. Even now, when I check, there's about two billion rufiyaa. Two thousand million rufiyaa. Up to today, we've been paying many bills," the President said.

"I assure you again that we will pay this money within the next week or two, God willing."

The President emphasized, "I'm doing this while fulfilling another promise I made - without printing money. We're doing this without printing money."

Highlighting that the country's economic situation is now improving, the President said that people's financial conditions will improve in the coming days.

He explained that this is because private construction companies will be receiving contracts for government projects in the coming days.
