President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has embarked on a three-day visit to the inhabited islands of Laamu Atoll as part of his ongoing initiative to strengthen direct engagement with communities across the Maldives.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu will meet with Island Councils and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) to discuss local development priorities and explore opportunities to further improve community welfare. The President will also hold meetings with residents to hear their concerns and gain first-hand insight into the needs of the islands.

The President’s itinerary includes visits to eleven islands: Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo, Dhan’bidhoo, Maabaidhoo, Mundoo, Gan, Maavah, Fonadhoo, Maamendhoo, Hithadhoo, and Kunahandhoo.

This atoll visit forms part of President Dr Muizzu’s broader nationwide effort to visit every atoll in the country. Through these visits, the President aims to foster closer cooperation between the central government and local councils, ensuring that development efforts are tailored to the unique circumstances of each community.

Accompanying the President on this trip are Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from key government institutions, reflecting the administration’s commitment to collaborative, community-driven development.
