The Elections Commission (EC) has extended the re-registration period for the referendum on changing the composition of the Addu City Council.

The EC had initially announced on the 15th of this month that the opportunity to register to vote in a place other than where one is registered would be open from that day until 6:00 PM on the 16th.

However, in an announcement today, the EC stated that this period has been extended until 6:00 PM today.

Residents of Feydhoo, Hulhudhoo, and Meedhoo in Addu City who need to register must check their registered voting location and submit a request to vote in a different location within this period if needed. Re-registration can be done online through the EC's 'Re-registration Portal' (form.elections.gov.mv) or 'My Portal' (my.elections.gov.mv).

The EC has published the registered voting locations for eligible voters from Feydhoo, Hulhudhoo, and Meedhoo who registered to vote in Male', Hulhumale', Vilimale', Feydhoo, Hulhudhoo, and Meedhoo during the 20th Parliamentary Elections.

According to this, 4,355 people from Feydhoo, 2,874 from Hulhudhoo, and 2,347 from Meedhoo are eligible to vote in this referendum.

  • Three boxes in Hulhudhoo
  • Three boxes in Meedhoo
  • Five boxes in Feydhoo
  • Three boxes in Male' for Hulhudhoo residents
  • One special box in Male' for Meedhoo
  • Three boxes in Male' for Feydhoo residents
