Former Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath has been summoned to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for questioning. The details of the case for which he was summoned have not been disclosed.

Earlier this week, three former ministers from the previous administration were also summoned to the ACC. They include former Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail, former Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer, and former Education Minister Dr Aishath Ali. The summons relate to an investigation into alleged misconduct in connection with a state-related event.

The investigation reportedly concerns a 2019 decision by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee to award compensation to Swift Engineering Pvt Ltd.

Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih commented on the matter on social media, urging the ACC to carry out its work without political influence and to maintain public trust in the institution.
