President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that practical work has begun to ensure that commonly used nutritious food is permanently available in the market at affordable prices.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) related to World Food Day, the President highlighted some steps taken by the government to ensure public health. He said that the government's initiative to distance people from tobacco and vape products aims to discourage habits of consuming harmful foods and drinks.

The government has recently added fruits and vegetables to the list of essential food items and released them to the market through STO on the 15th of this month.

"The government is taking practical steps to ensure that commonly used nutritious and good food is always available in the market at affordable prices," the President said.

The President stated that the most important thing in achieving a healthy society free from diseases and raising healthy children is to maintain healthy eating habits.

The President further said that the government will work extensively to raise awareness about these issues at the national level.
