Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has established a new company, wholly owned by MACL, to carry out land reclamation projects.

The new company is called Peninsula Infrastructure. According to the Economic Ministry's business portal, the company was registered on the 6th of this month.

The Managing Director of Peninsula Infrastructure is Ibrahim Shareef, who also serves as the Managing Director of MACL.

The new company has already advertised for contractors to carry out land reclamation projects. It has also announced tenders for various development projects on different islands.

This move indicates MACL's expansion into land reclamation and infrastructure development beyond its core airport operations.
