President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the construction of classrooms at Sh. Goidhoo School will be completed by the beginning of the next academic year.

During his visit to Goidhoo as part of his tour of inhabited islands in Sh. Atoll, the President explained that the school project had been halted when the current administration took office. The previous contract was terminated and reassigned to Fenaka Corporation to ensure timely completion.

According to the President, materials required for the project will be transported to the island within a week, and the construction will be completed before the start of the next school year.

He also revealed plans to hand over the construction of a new two-storey building with 20 beds to the island by the end of next month, with work expected to begin later this year.

The President stated that the development of a football field, volleyball court, and handball court will be included in next year’s budget.

In addition, efforts are being made to provide electricity for local farmers and to address the mosquito issue on the island in collaboration with relevant authorities.
