President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that a housing project will be launched in ADh. Kunburudhoo next year. The announcement was made during his visit to the island, marking the first presidential visit in sixteen years.

During his address to the community, the President highlighted that Kunburudhoo, the smallest island in the atoll by land area, will see significant development through new land and harbour projects. He stated that the housing project will be based on the available land as outlined in the island’s land use plan.

The President also confirmed that the island’s land reclamation and harbour development projects are scheduled to commence next month and are expected to be completed within a year and a half. The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract for these works.

As part of his visit, President Dr Muizzu inaugurated the newly built Kunburudhoo Football Stadium and Multipurpose Court, further enhancing the island’s community infrastructure.
