The Auditor General's Office has submitted a total budget requirement of MVR 133.5 million for the upcoming year 2026 to the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee.
Auditor General Hussain Niyazy and senior officials from the office participated in today's committee meeting to discuss the office's budget.
When presenting the budget needed for next year, the total budget including PSIP (Public Sector Investment Program) is MVR 133.4 million.
However, without PSIP, it is MVR 92 million. This includes MVR 89 million for recurrent expenditure and MVR 3 million for capital expenditure. The PSIP component amounts to MVR 41.5 million.
