The land reclamation and shore protection project for ADh. Dhangethi has been awarded to MTCC.
The project was handed over to MTCC today during a ceremony held in Dhangethi, as part of the President's ongoing tour of 10 islands in ADh. Atoll.
At the ceremony, MTCC's Managing Director Ahmed Saudee signed the project agreement on behalf of the company, while Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib signed on behalf of the Ministry of Construction.
The land reclamation and shore protection project was awarded to MTCC for MVR 279.92 million, to be completed within 570 days.
The land reclamation project includes:
- Reclaiming 27.32 hectares of land
- Installing 576 meters of temporary geobag revetment
- Constructing 718 meters of revetment
- Building a 500-meter low-crest breakwater
- Constructing 240 meters of groynes
The shore protection work includes:
- Adding 66,500 cubic meters of sand to the beach
- Installing 492 meters of geobag revetment
- Constructing 385 meters of groynes
