The Criminal Court has remanded six individuals for 15 days out of those arrested by the police during the opposition MDP's "Lootuvaifi, Lootuvaifi" protest last night.

MDP stated that the police arrested eight people during last night's protest.

However, they mentioned that Mohamed Khalaf Ibrahim, who was among those arrested, has been released, and Hussain Zareer will be released within the next 24 hours.

The individuals remanded for 15 days by the court are:

  • Yaugoob Abdullah, former Member of Parliament
  • Yasir Abdullah, former Member of Parliament
  • Hassan Solah, President of Maafushi Council
  • Azeem Ali
  • Hassan Shahir
