Madaveli MP Mohamed Shameez has submitted a motion to the Parliament calling on the government to speed up investigations and action on corruption highlighted in the special audit report of Fenaka Corporation Limited. The motion is scheduled for debate at tomorrow’s sitting of the People’s Majlis.

Tomorrow’s agenda also includes the appointment of four non-resident ambassadors, four members to the National Integrity Commission, two members to the Tax Appeal Tribunal, and one member to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives.

In addition, Parliament will forward the ratification of the Instrument for the Acceptance of the 1986 Constitutional Amendment in the Maldives to committee for consideration.

Two bills are also expected to be introduced: an amendment to the Land Transport Act, submitted by opposition MDP MP Mohamed Ibrahim, and the re-employment bill, submitted on behalf of the government by Guraidhoo MP Hanan Mohamed Rasheed.
