Criminal Court has sentenced two men to prison over their involvement in a stabbing incident that took place on 8 February 2021.

The case involved the stabbing of a man in the back with a sharp object. The state charged three individuals - Ahmed Shameem, Mohamed Mazin and Sharaf Rasheed - with participating in the assault with intent to cause grievous harm.

After hearings, the court acquitted Shameem of the charges but found Mazin and Sharaf guilty. Mazin was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Sharaf received a seven-year sentence.
