Criminal Court has acquitted Sun Investment and Sun Construction of money laundering charges related to R. Fuggiri lease transaction.

The companies are also linked to Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed.

Meanwhile, the trial involving former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and former parliamentarian Yoosuf Naeem remains ongoing. The case was delayed after Yameen’s defence team submitted the matter to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court completed its hearings on 29 March and is now expected to deliver a ruling.
