A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Hithadhoo, Addu City.

Police stated that the assault was reported to them at around 1:17 AM on the 23rd of this month.

In relation to this case, Ali As'ar (30 years old) from Sunreef, S. Hithadhoo, was arrested on Sunday under a court warrant.

When presented to court for a remand hearing, the judge ordered Ali As'ar to be held in custody for 30 days, according to the police. The victim of the assault is reported to be a 34-year-old Maldivian man.

The police said that the victim is currently receiving treatment at Addu Equatorial Hospital, and the hospital has informed them that his condition is improving.

The case is being investigated under the law on preventing gang crimes and other dangerous offenses, the police added.
