The Criminal Court has sentenced a man to prison for breaking into and stealing from Euro Store in Gn. Fuvahmulah Maalegan ward.

In this case, the state filed three charges against Ahmed from Uduvilaage, Gn. Fuvahmulah:

  1. Entering a prohibited place without permission, for entering Euro Store without the owner's consent.
  2. Damaging property, for breaking the glass of Euro Store.
  3. Theft, for entering the store's warehouse after breaking the glass and stealing cases of cigarettes, cigarette cartons, and a phone.

The court sentenced the defendant as follows:

  • 27 days for knowingly entering a prohibited place
  • 1 month and 24 days for damaging property
  • 9 months and 18 days for theft

These sentences will be served in prison.
