President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the dollar limits on Bank of Maldives (BML) credit cards will be increased starting from February next year.
In a post on "X" today, the President stated that as part of the government's efforts to increase the monthly dollar limits on credit cards, it has been decided to increase the limits from February 1, 2026, as follows:
Classic card limit to USD 1,400
Gold card limit to USD 1,500
Platinum card limit to USD 2,000
While BML has decided to increase credit card dollar limits, it was also announced that from November 11 this year, the amount that can be paid through Point of Sale (POS) terminals abroad using BML debit cards will be increased to USD 1,000.
From the same date, the amount that can be paid using debit cards for purchasing airline tickets and for hotel payments abroad will be increased to USD 3,000.
