The foundation for a new Bank of Maldives (BML) branch has been laid in R. Alifushi.

BML stated that a ceremony was held in Alifushi today for this occasion, attended by Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and other senior officials from the bank.

"Laying the foundation for a new branch in Alifushi is an important step in expanding our services in R. Atoll. We aim to complete the construction of this new branch within the next year, which will allow the residents of this island to access banking services more conveniently and closer to home," Shareef said at the ceremony.

Shareef mentioned that this is part of their ongoing efforts to expand banking services throughout the atoll. Currently, BML provides services in R. Atoll through its branches in Ungoofaaru, Dhuvaafaru, and Meedhoo.

BML stated that their goal is to assist individuals, businesses, and communities across the Maldives through their nationwide banking network, which includes 42 branches in 20 atolls, 179 self-service banking centers, 237 ATMs, and the most modern online banking services.
