The Bangladeshi man arrested for stabbing a Nepalese woman working at the OCC shop in Hulhumalé has been remanded until the end of his trial.

The incident of a Nepalese woman being stabbed and injured with a sharp object in Hulhumalé was reported to the police yesterday at 12:45 PM.

The victim of the attack was a 21-year-old Nepalese woman working at a shop in Hulhumalé Phase 1. She was stabbed in the neck.

Police told "One" today that the injured Nepalese woman was treated and released at some point yesterday.

The police stated that when the attacker, a Bangladeshi national named Jahangir Mia, was brought to court for a remand hearing, the court ordered him to be held in custody until the end of his trial.

The police are continuing to investigate the case.
