President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that connecting Th. Kinbidhoo and Veymandoo with a causeway will bring significant economic progress to the atoll and the region.

The President made these remarks while addressing the residents of Kinbidhoo during his ongoing tour of Th. Atoll islands.

The President said that since opening the project for expressions of interest on the 22nd of this month, investors have already been showing interest. He added that the project will be carried out on a contractor finance basis, along with an integrated tourism project, allocating land from the atoll for this purpose.

Highlighting the benefits of the project, the President mentioned that it would increase job opportunities, encourage population growth, and facilitate island consolidation. He also stated that it would lead to major development projects.

The President assured that he would fulfill his promise to make the Kinbidhoo-Veymandoo causeway a reality.
