Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has ordered the removal of items placed by the public and businesses in the area of the swimming track in Hulhumalé Phase 1, as work begins to repair the most damaged areas of the beach in that area.

In an announcement made today, HDC said that this work began yesterday.

"To carry out this work quickly and ensure the safety of those active in this area, it is our strong request that items placed by businesses and the public in the area designated for the project work be removed as soon as possible," the announcement stated.

HDC has also appealed to the public not to enter this area during the work period, as it would not be safe.
