President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established the Digital Transformation Council, tasked with guiding the implementation of the government’s ambitious “Maldives 2.0 – Digital-First Nation” vision.

The Council, formed on the advice of the Cabinet, will facilitate, oversee, and direct the execution of the digital roadmap. It will be chaired by President Dr Muizzu himself, underscoring the administration’s commitment to advancing national digital transformation.

“Maldives 2.0” is a flagship initiative of the President, designed to position digitalisation at the heart of governance and public service delivery. The programme envisions State institutions working in unison to provide services that are faster, safer, and more transparent.

According to the government, the reforms will bring about revolutionary changes in how citizens engage with public institutions, marking a significant step towards modernising governance and enhancing efficiency nationwide.
