A man has been arrested in a case where a person was held hostage and money was demanded from their family.

The person arrested in connection with this case is a Bangladeshi national, MD Alauddin Hiridoi (28).

He was arrested on charges of unlawful detention of a person.

When he was taken to court for a detention hearing regarding this case, the Criminal Court ordered his detention for 10 days.

The court order for his detention states that he took a person hostage to a guesthouse room and called the hostage's family to obtain a large sum of money.
