Two people have been arrested with a large amount of drugs during an operation conducted by the police in K. Kaashidhoo as part of their ongoing efforts against drugs.

The police said that the two individuals were arrested on the night of the 18th of this month from the northern ward of Kaashidhoo, based on information received about people possessing and trading drugs, as part of an operation being carried out by Kaashidhoo Police Station since the 7th of this month.

Those arrested in this operation are Ahmed Firaag (46) of K. Kaashidhoo / Saadhaage, and Salim Naseer (43) of K. Kaashidhoo / Sharaf.

When the two were arrested and their bodies and the place where they were at the time were searched, 110 rubber packets containing substances suspected to be drugs were found.

When presented to court for a detention hearing regarding this case, Ahmed Firaag was given a seven-day detention period while Salim Naseer was given a 10-day detention period.

Kaashidhoo Police Station is continuing to investigate this case.
