President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the work to add 12 hectares of land to V. Keyodhoo will begin early next year.

During his visit to Keyodhoo as part of his tour to four atolls, the President met with the island's residents this morning and said that he hasn't forgotten one of the most important promises made to the people of Keyodhoo, which is to reclaim land for the island.

He said that the next thing needed for Keyodhoo's progress is to increase the island's space, and the first priority is given to the new school building project that started today and the new health center building project.

"So when the budget is being set for next year, we're now in the budget submission phase. The budget will be submitted next month. And it will be passed in November, December. Early in 2026, God willing, I assure you that work will practically begin to add 12 hectares of land to this island to fulfill that promise," he said.

The President further said that since Keyodhoo is also an island with extensive local tourism, a dollar ATM will be installed on the island before March of next year.
