Construction has commenced on a new health centre building in V. Fulidhoo. The project was inaugurated during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island as part of his ongoing tour of Vaavu Atoll. The ceremony was officiated by Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim.

The project has been awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) at a cost of MVR 27 million, with completion scheduled within 360 days.

According to MTCC, the new health centre will cover an area of 15,650 square feet. The scope of work includes excavation, machinery and concrete works, tiling, installation of doors, dredging, iron and hydraulic works, as well as drainage and electrical wiring.

The facility will also be equipped with a medical gas system, air conditioning, and fire safety equipment.
