A man has been arrested for using fake slips at various shops in GA. Villingili.

The police said today that Mohamed Sharif (37) of G. Rosy, Malé, was arrested for sending inauthentic slips.

He was arrested on the 12th of this month under a court order in connection with a case where he is suspected of buying items from various shops in Villingili and sending fake slips claiming to have paid online.

The investigation so far has revealed that he has taken items worth MVR 1,500 from various shops, and when presented to court for a detention hearing regarding this case, the court ordered his detention for eight days, the police said.

The police said that they are continuing to investigate the case.
