Hussain Hassan, the President of MDP's GA. Villingili constituency, who was arrested for taking photos during a police drug operation, has been released from police custody.

Hussain was released from police custody after being presented to the Criminal Court today for a detention hearing, where the court ordered his release.

The police said today that Hussain was released by court order with certain conditions.

The police said last night that Hussain was taken into custody for disobeying orders and obstructing duty on suspicion of entering the scene of an ongoing drug operation to take photos/videos, and continuing to do so even after being advised to behave in a way that would not hinder police work.

They said he argued when advised and entered the scene against police instructions, attempting to take photos of evidence.
